It added A.R.S. 33-443. A foreign adversary nation or a foreign adversary agent may not purchase, own, acquire by grant or devise, or otherwise obtain a substantial interest in real property in this state.

A.R.S. 33-443(A), added by S.B. 1082 and signed on July 1, 2025, states that a foreign adversary nation or a foreign adversary agent may not, directly or indirectly, purchase, own, acquire by grant or devise, or otherwise obtain a substantial interest in real property in this state. Subsection H defines substantial interest as an interest of thirty percent or more. Section 2 of the act says it does not apply to acquisitions that occurred before the effective date.
